Sometimes beauty isn't in the architecture of a place or its history. Beauty can be found in the simplest of places, especially when they contrast with what's immediately nearby. I love this because, even though it looks like a horrible place, it was a home. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. Was it clean? No way. Were the people living inside doing illegal things? Almost certainly. Although it's nasty, run-down, dangerous, and now demolished, this location is only blocks away from the beautiful Utah State Capitol. (A few weeks after I took this shot, I had a pistol drawn at me by a clearly drugged-out man less than half a block away)
