The brush is the most important tool for traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. The Huzhou Ink Brush was regarded as the best brush in China since the Yuan Dynasty (13-14th century). In 2006, the technique of making Huzhou Ink Brush was enlisted as one of China's national intangible cultural heritages.
